IBM-Cognos, Citrix, Emdeon to exhibit at HFN's Virtual Conference & Expo

By Chris Anderson

With a dozen education sessions and opening and closing keynote addresses at the Healthcare Finance News Virtual Conference & Expo running Wednesday and Thursday, there is no shortage of valuable and actionable information to help make your businesses better prepared for the upcoming changes in healthcare. Yet limiting yourself to just the sessions without dropping by the exhibition hall may limit your ability to get all you can from the event.

This year’s exhibit hall features nine companies that offer a broad array of services and products for the healthcare sector. For the next three days, we will highlight three exhibitors and their plans for the show.

IBM-Cognos
A provider of services and software to a broad range of healthcare companies from payers to providers, IBM-Cognos will staff its booth in the exhibition hall with Susan Noack, worldwide healthcare industry director for IBM Business Analytics, and Mary Margaret Franclemont, program and field marketing manager.

Visitors can learn how Cognos software can help businesses use real-time analytics to provide insight into vital operations. They can also download case studies from a variety of different industry sectors that show how IBM-Cognos can help improve business operations.

"We have physician organizations, hospitals, health insurers and customer references that will speak to each particular sgment of the industry," said Franclemont. "They will demonstrate how different businesses have been impacted by using  the Cognos solution in both business intelligence and performance management."

Visitors will also have access to a selection of white papers and can link to the IBM-Cognos Web site, where they will find podcasts and more information about the company and its services.

Citrix
Virtual computing company Citrix plans to staff its booth with two people during the two-day event. Plans are for one staff member to be present in the booth while another meets people and strikes up conversations in the virtual lounge. Visitors to the Citrix booth will find a host of support materials detailing its work in the healthcare sector.

“We have found that in this time of stimulus funding, EHRs and meaningful use that people like to find out what their peers are doing,” said Iris Polit, program marketing manager.

To that end, Citrix will offer case studies from a wide selection of providers from across the country. White papers from the company spell out the various ways virtualization can help solve common healthcare problems, while solution briefs focus on EHR adoption and the use of iPad technology to access healthcare information.

Emdeon
With six staff members set to cycle through its virtual exhibit over two days, provider and payer revenue and payment cycle company Emdeon is looking to make a big splash at this year’s Virtual Conference & Expo . According to Amanda Woodhead, manager of corporate communications, the company will feature its suite of revenue cycle management products in its booth.

Emdeon’s booth will feature revenue cycle management consultants who work with both internal sales and potential customers to provide demonstrations of the company's RCM suite, which provides tools to help with patient access management, claims management, payment and patient billing.

Taking part in a virtual show is a relatively new experience for Emdeon and one that may become more regular, Woodhead said.

“We are really excited to take part in this virtual experience,” she said. “Our hope is to have visibility and name recognition – same as with all shows, but in a virtual, relaxed environment to learn how can we meet our customers’ needs in this new venue.”
