Scott and White to manage contracts electronically

By Molly Merrill

Scott & White Health Plan, a not-for-profit, state certified Health Maintenance Organization in central Texas, has successfully deployed Krytpiq’s new Choreo Contract Manager. Sott & White officials say they expect the contract management solution will reduce management expenses at the HMO by eliminating paper costs, controlling contract life cycle electronically and allowing a clear view of terms, rates and language for all providers.

Scott & White’s network includes more than 1,000 providers serving an upwards of 200,000 members. It has already won kudos for its efforts: In 2006, the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Health Plans ranked Scott & White Health Plan the highest health plan in Texas for the second year in a row. The ranking was based upon overall member satisfaction and treatment outcomes.

It was also listed as the best health plan in Texas for 2006 and was nationally ranked in both the Commercial and Medicare plan categories. US. News and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), which accredits managed-care plans, examined 684 plans for this year’s examination.

Scott & White is implementing Kryptiq’s Choreo as part of a plan to better grow and manage its ecosystem of provider networks and ensure members receive the best care at the best price.

“Scott & White Health Plan is committed to setting the standard for healthcare transparency and best practices,” said Allan F. Einboden, CEO of Scott & White Health Plan, in a press release.  “Implementing Choreo has enabled our organization to better control costs and manage resources resulting in improved workflow, unparalleled access to vitally important information and greater visibility for all of our stake-holders.”

The Choreo Contract Manager is a contract management solution for health plans, which streamlines and simplifies provider contract management. Choreo implementation is based upon a multi-phase strategy that allows users to customize templates, interfaces, and workflows for their specific needs.

“Choreo Contract Manager enables Scott & White to continue to take a leadership position among health plans and the broader healthcare industry,” said Luis Machuca, president and CEO of Kryptiq in a press release. “Scott & White’s application of Choreo is a compelling demonstration of how health plans can better manage their provider networks through improved data transparency.”
