Craneware, Ohio university collaborate on curriculum

Craneware Inc., a supplier of chargemaster and revenue-cycle software solutions, is collaborating with the Ohio State University School of Allied Medical Professions to develop specific academic preparation around charge description master (CDM) management skills for health information management (HIM) students. Jim Wilson, executive vice president of Craneware, says the two have been working together for years, through internships and the university’s use of Craneware’s Chargemaster Toolkit CDM-management software.

Accuro Healthcare acquires CDM Services

Accuro Healthcare Solutions has acquired CDM Services Group Inc. and its hands-on chargemaster consulting and maintenance services to more than 70 hospitals. The acquisition of CDMSG from M. Leco & Associates, a Pittsburgh-based provider of revenue recovery services for the healthcare industry, is Accuro’s third acquisition of the year. The Dallas-based firm offers chargemaster management solutions and consulting offerings to hospitals and other healthcare providers nationwide.

Lawson Software partners with Aurora Health Care

Lawson Software signed a multi-suite contract with Aurora Health Care in Lawson’s first quarter of fiscal 2007, which ended Aug. 31, 2006. The Milwaukee, Wis.-based health system licensed Lawson Enterprise Financial Management and Business Intelligence suites to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting. Lawson, based in St. Paul, Minn., replaces Aurora’s legacy financial system and will enforce Aurora’s internal controls, standardize data for improved transaction tracking and automate many formerly paper-based processes.

Misys introduces newP4P reporting tools

Misys Healthcare Systems of Raleigh, N.C. has introduced new, customizable pay-for-performance (P4P) reporting tools as part of its Executive Dashboard. “Many agencies are struggling with how to best position themselves in advance of industry-wide shifts while, at the same time, caring for more patients and maintaining quality patient care,” said Cathy McKillip, Misys Healthcare Systems’ vice president of operations. “These changes demand innovative IT solutions. Misys’ new P4P reporting tools allow home care executives to meet these challenges through consolidated, real-time data in easy-to-read reports.”
