The Boeing Company Employees from the Florida Operations Community Fund, at Kennedy Space Center, has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard (CACB) for its Case Tracking Program.
"Even in these difficult economic times, we can still count on (Boeing) to support our efforts to protect the children of this community," said Charles Biehl, Director of the Advocacy Center and the Child Protection Team.
During the last fiscal year, ending June 30, Advocacy Center partners assessed and tracked nearly 1,100 cases of child sexual abuse and the most severe physical abuse and neglect found in Brevard County, Florida. The CACB Case Tracking Program ensures that no child gets lost in the complex system of investigating allegations of child abuse.
Established in 1996, the CACB, a nonprofit organization affiliated with Wuesthoff Health Services, is a multi-agency collaboration of the Child Protection Team and the Florida Department of Children and Families (both of which are onsite at the Advocacy Center), the Brevard County Sheriff's Office and municipal law enforcement agencies, the Office of the State Attorney and community mental health professionals.
