Southern California-based Newport Harbor Radiology Associates Medical Group, Inc., recently renewed its contract for three years with Zotec Partners and will use the company's Electronic Billing Center practice management and billing software suite.
Practices these days seem to be more aware of what software can provide them with better revenue, according to Mark Isenberg, vice president of business development for Zotec.
While some practices outsource and others use in-house operations, Isenberg says Zotec assists in everything from patient encounters to payment services to collections.
"The (technology) has provided us with consistent billing performance and access to information our practice needs to be at its most competitive," said Michael Madler, chief operating officer of NHRA.
Texas-based Texarkarna Radiology Associates has also recently employed Zotec's EBC.
"The practice has access to a reporting package that will allow it to manage the financial metrics proactively as opposed to reactively making decisions," said John Brochu, a partner in Zotec Partners.
With continued pressure on reimbursement activities, billing software helps providers deal with self-pay accounts. NHRA and TRA are now paid in seven to 10 days.
"Since its launch there has been $1.5 million in payments through the online patient portal alone," said Isenberg. "Physicians are starved for actual knowledge. They don't know what they don't know."
