Cigna and CVS Health are the latest organizations to take part in TrumpRx’s efforts to lower the cost of drugs to “most favored nation” pricing.
Cigna, through its Evernorth pharmacies Freedom Fertility and VFP Pharmacy Group, will dispense Gonal-f, Cetrotide and Ovidrel at the lowest available cash price. The pharmacies operate in all 50 states and have dispensed fertility drugs for more than 30 years.
Beginning in January 2026, Evernorth and CVS Health will dispense all EMD Serono treatments for infertility on the TrumpRx platform.
These fertility treatments are manufactured by EMD Serono, a biotech company engaged by the Trump administration to bring the price of the medicine down by 84%.
CVS Health has said it will also offer fertility drug access through its CVS specialty pharmacy and 9,000 retail stores. The price of Gonal-f will be 84% lower, aligning with the TrumpRx agreement.
TrumpRx is a federal website that offers discounted medications directly to U.S. residents.
WHY THIS MATTERS
TrumpRx launched following a pricing agreement with Pfizer. The deal reduces the price of Pfizer’s prescription drugs for Medicaid to most favored nation pricing, which is the lowest price offered in other high-income countries.
TrumpRx touts consumer prices are being cut by up to 100%.
The platform is part of its broader effort to align U.S. drug prices with international benchmarks and increase access to high-cost therapies, including GLP-1s and IVF medications.
THE LARGER TREND
More than 4 in 10 adults in the U.S. say they or someone they know has used fertility treatments, according to Cigna.
“We are proud to partner with President Trump to help make fertility treatment more affordable for Americans trying to build their families,” said Brian Evanko, president and COO of The Cigna Group. “The Cigna Group’s coordinated model of services makes this partnership possible, allowing us to be advocates on behalf of those looking to start or expand their family and all the Americans we’re honored to serve. We partner with a wide range of employers to build fertility benefits, covering millions of Americans, and we hope the new initiatives announced by President Trump will serve as a gateway to expand affordable IVF access to all Americans – either through their employer plan or through TrumpRx.”
“Fertility medications often require special administration and high-touch expertise. We are proud to join the president to help make every step of the journey as simple as possible for families by providing nationwide access,” said Lucille Accetta, senior vice president and chief pharmacy officer at CVS Health.
