Consumer Health Technologies adds more content to its CDHC platform

Consumer Health Technologies, Inc., is adding more resources to its BenefitSpan platform to help payers, banks and third party administrators improve the quality of life of the nation’s workforce.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based provider of consumer-directed healthcare (CDHC) administration software is joining forces with My Wellchoice+, based in Eagle, Idaho, to offer interactive fitness, nutrition and emotional assistance programs, as well as other wellness programs, through BenefitSpan, the company’s CDHC platform that integrates accounts, administration, tools and services to encourage customer engagement.

“Wellness programs such as My Wellchoice+ are the perfect compliment to a total CDHC solution such as BenefitSpan,” said Pradeep Goel, CHT’s CEO, in a press release. “We selected MWC for their comprehensive approach to wellness for individual and families as well as their focus on prevention and fitness. There has never been a better time to reinforce workforce and individual wellness as a method to achieve healthcare cost containment goals.”

“The BenefitSpan platform enables payers, administrators and financial institutions to effortlessly implement this wellness program as part of their total CDHC solution offering,” said Goel.

“We know wellness works to help families lead healthier and more productive lives by eating better, exercising more, living well, quitting smoking and reducing stress,” added Scott Leavitt, My Wellchoice+ CEO and past president of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU).

CHT targets administrators, banks and payers by providing a CDHC service platform that includes healthcare transactions, financial services and supporting services such as wellness, incentive and discount programs, bill management, payment administration, advocacy and dispute management. The services are designed to be adapted for use by individual and group clients for HAS, HRA and FSA account solutions.

The inclusion of wellness programs in BenefitSpan is designed to improve members’ physical and mental health, thus reducing healthcare costs down the road and improving workforce productivity.

Last month, CHT announced a partnership with Health Advocate, Inc., a Plymouth Meeting, Pa.-based provider of decision-support services for healthcare consumers on issues ranging from dealing with chronic illnesses to finding elder care services.
