Consumer Health Technologies, Inc., a developer of consumer-directed healthcare software for administrators, payers and financial institutions, is boosting its resources through a partnership with Health Advocate, Inc.
Health Advocate, based in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., offers a range of decision-support services for healthcare consumers, helping them with issues ranging from dealing with chronic illnesses to finding elder care services to locating the right doctor for a specific problem. The company’s program of independent healthcare advocacy and assistance will be integrated into Consumer Health technology’s BenefitSpan platform, a total benefit administration platform for managing CDHC and the underlying accounts associated with them.
“The reputation of Health Advocate will serve to optimize the service and revenue opportunities that exist when clients implement BenefitSpan as their CDHC administration platform,” said Pradeep Goel, CEO of Consumer Health Technologies, in a press release. “By offering an affordable resource that has strict focus on education, choice, delivery and utilization of care, we can help to reduce or eliminate the serious gaps that exist between consumers, health plans and care provider.”
Consumer Health Technologies targets administrators, banks and payers by providing a CDHC service platform that includes healthcare transactions, financial services and supporting services such as wellness, incentive and discount programs, bill management, payment administration, advocacy and dispute management. The services are designed to be adapted for use by individual and group clients for HAS, HRA and FSA account solutions.
Founded in 2001, Health Advocates serves more than 5,000 clients, with access to more than 15 million healthcare consumers.
“Consumer Health Technologies is one of the few companies with an established track record of being able to provide a total solution in the CDHC market space,” said Abbie Leibowitz, MD, chief medical officer, executive vice president and a cofounder of Health Advocate. “We are looking forward to working with them as an integral part of their solution.”
