The Connecticut State Medical Society has struck a deal with a software provider that is expected to bring price breaks on the vendor's products for as many as 7,000 physicians.
The organization announced the agreement with Misys Healthcare Systems of Raleigh, N.C. to make the company its technology provider of choice.
Based on the new relationship, members of the medical society will be eligible for discounts on Misys applications, including software-based applications and services that enhance electronic medical records, patient communications, and revenue cycle and claims management, among others.
Misys is the medical society's first strategic solutions supplier in the partnership program. As part of the initiative to form affinity partnerships, Misys and the professional group will establish a closer working relationship and explore ways to better serve the needs of physicians and the state's healthcare community.
Sharing medical data between medical providers was one of the reasons for the society's program and the selection of Misys, association executives said.
"Misys has developed quality software that is user-friendly and enables the sharing of patient data in all settings, which is important because of the diversity within our community," said Matthew Katz, executive director of the state medical society.
Misys executives say they see the relationship as an opportunity to enable it to work closely with the medical society's physicians and other software vendors with which the organization seeks affinity partnerships.
The Connecticut State Medical Society represents eight county medical associations and more than 7,000 physicians throughout the state.
