Former HHS Secretary Tom Price joins advisory board of healthcare staffing firm

Jackson Healthcare CEO says Price brings "profound understanding of healthcare landscape," to the company.

Former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, MD, has been named to the advisory board of the staffing firm Jackson Healthcare in Atlanta, the company announced.

Price was appointed to HHS by President Donald Trump, but resigned in September over controversy stemming from using taxpayer money to charter private jets for government travel.

Price is an orthopedic surgeon and former United States Congressman. From 2015 to 2017 he served as chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Jackson Healthcare is a large specialized staffing firm with revenue of $1 billion annually. Price said that Jackson's mission aligns with the work he has undertaken to advance patient care throughout his career.

"Nobody has as profound an understanding of the national healthcare landscape as Dr. Price," said Richard Jackson, CEO of Jackson Healthcare said in a statement on Tuesday.
