Healthcare Finance News staff expands

NEW GLOUCESTER, MAINE - Healthcare Finance News, the business newspaper for healthcare financial managers, has added a new editor to its award-winning team of journalists.

Editor Fred Bazzoli named Chelsey Ledue HFN's new associate editor. She will be responsible for covering breaking news, trends and industry moves and for the newspaper's Community Care section.

"I look forward to deepening my knowledge of the healthcare system and writing for Healthcare Finance News," Ledue said. "And I welcome the opportunity to report on a $1.9 trillion market that is in tremendous flux, that faces numerous challenges, and is at the center of political debate and technological innovation."

Ledue is a graduate of the University of Maine, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism and worked for the school's newspaper, The Maine Campus. She also wrote for the Bangor Daily News, Maine's second largest daily newspaper. where she covered a wide array of stories.

"I really enjoyed my experience at the BDN," Ledue said, "but writing for an industry-specific, national newspaper was an opportunity I couldn't pass up."

In addition to reporting on physician practices, pharmacies, long-term care, home care and ambulatory care centers, Ledue will also be involved in team coverage of major industry issues, manage HFN departments such as its calendar, new products and personnel sections, and contributing to daily online news coverage.

 

EXPANDED DAILY NEWS COVERAGE

Ledue replaces Chip Means, who was recently promoted to Web Editor. Means is a graduate of Bates College; he previously worked for Massachusetts-based media companies, including radio and print/online publishers. In his new capacity, Means is responsible for upgrading Healthcare Finance News's online presence, and is about to launch a daily briefing for healthcare financial managers.

"Daily news is critical to an industry such as ours," said Means. "Healthcare Finance NewsDay will provide a quick, accurate read on the most important stories each morning, providing decision-makers with actionable information in multimedia formats."

The daily newsletter is scheduled to go live on Dec. 1, and a simple subscription form is available on healthcarefinancenews.com.

In addition to the new daily newsletter, the family of publications include the monthly Healthcare Finance News, which won the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editor's silver medal for best new publication in 2007, and Healthcare Finance NewsWeek, a weekly e-newsletter providing news and analysis of the industry's most pressing issues. Daily news is also available at the newspaper's Web site, HealthcareFinanceNews.com and from the site's RSS feed.
