A developer of electronic billing and payment solutions for the healthcare industry, among others, is adding a feature that allows patients and providers to establish payment plans.
Internet Payment Exchange (IPayX) of Toledo, Ohio, is adding BillPay Assist to its eCareview Healthcare Billing Portal. The feature enables healthcare providers to give consumers and customer service agents the ability to create scheduled payment options for self-pay portions of medical bills.
"We added additional functionality to our existing payment plans in response to feedback from our healthcare clients and their patients for more flexibility, especially as the economy continues to struggle," said Douglas Braun, president and CEO of IPayX, in a press release. "BillPay Assist enables healthcare providers to offer a number of new payment-related options including the ability to establish payment plans, up-front, on newly created accounts, apply discounts to accounts that use payment plans and to recalculate the last recurring payment in necessary."
IPayX offers a number of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products for healthcare providers, utility companies, municipal governments and other organizations, including the eCareview Healthcare Billing Portal, ePayPoint Cash Receipts Service and eInvoice Delivery Service. For healthcare providers, the software is designed to accelerate cash flow, reduce billing and customer service costs, increase collection of self-pay billing and reduce the time needed to set up automatic payment plans.
