Lexi-Comp has been awarded a $10 million contract by the TRICARE Management Activity to provide the Military Health System with an Electronic Clinical Reference solution.
Under the contract, all MHS active duty, reserve and guard healthcare personnel across all military treatment facilities, including 59 hospitals and 364 health clinics, will have access to Lexi-Comp's 23 medical and nine dental databases.
The information is referenced when making decisions on prescribing, administering and monitoring the effects of medications to help ensure patient safety and avoid drug interactions.
"To be charged with providing all MHS healthcare professionals with vital clinical information that helps the men and women of our armed forces is truly an honor and a responsibility to which we are all deeply committed," said Robert Kerscher, founder and CEO of the Hudson, Ohio-based provider of clinical information and drug data solutions for healthcare professionals.
