Milwaukee health system eliminates 90 jobs

By Richard Pizzi

Aurora Health Care plans to eliminate approximately 90 jobs and will not fill 220 vacant positions.

The Milwaukee-based health system employs about 29,000 people. The jobs to be eliminated are almost entirely in administrative areas, according to the health system.

The health system said Aurora employees whose positions are being eliminated would be given priority for other jobs that become available. That will include jobs at the system's new hospital in Summit, Wis., scheduled to open in early 2010.
