Jeffrey H. Peters, MD, has been named chief operating officer for University Hospitals in Cleveland. A surgeon, researcher and healthcare executive, Peters will begin transitioning into his role in early January and join UH full time by March 31.
Northwestern Memorial HealthCare has named Richard J. Gannotta, president, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and senior vice president, NMHC effective February 10. Gannotta currently is president of Duke Raleigh Hospital, one of three hospitals comprising the Duke University Health System.
Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyo., has named Bryan Chalmers to be its new chief financial officer. Chalmers is currently the CFO at Craig, Colorado's Memorial Hospital. He begins his new position as CFO on February 17. Bryan's 13-year healthcare career began as a senior accountant at the Community Medical Center in Missoula, Mont. and he has served as a chief financial officer since 2004.
Community Health Systems has named W. Larry Cash president of financial services and chief financial officer. Previously, Cash served as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He also serves as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
Timothy Sayler, current CEO of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, is leaving his position to become chief administrative officer and chief operations officer of Essentia Health-Fargo in Fargo, N.D. He assumes his new role with Essentia Health on March 17, and will oversee five hospitals and multiple clinics, which employ more than 2,000 people.
Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., has appointed Kevin Fowler as senior vice president and chief operating officer. Fowler has been with Cabell Huntington since October 2013 when he was selected as vice president of clinical services. He previously served as CEO for Muskogee, Okla.-based Easter Health System and CEO of Logan Regional Medical Center.
Cam Patterson has been appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, effective January 6. Patterson previously held multiple leadership roles at the University of North Carolina, including physician-in-chief at the UNC Center for Heart and Vascular Care, executive director of the UNC McAllister Heart Institute, chief of the division of cardiology, and associate dean of healthcare entrepreneurship.
VHA Inc., the national healthcare membership network, has named Anna Fox as senior vice president and executive officer of VHA Central. In her role, Fox oversees the strategy and operations for the four-state region covering Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
The American Hospital Association has named Michelle Hood, president and CEO of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems in Brewer, Maine, as chair of its Section for Health Care Systems Governing Council. Patrick Fry, president and CEO of Sutter Health in Sacramento, Calif., was named chairman-elect of the council and will assume the role of chairman in 2015. Steve Hanson, CEO of Baptist Health in Louisville, Ky., became the immediate past chairman.
