Advanced Radiologic Physicians of Bowling Green, Ohio, has hired a new practice management and billing services firm.
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Medical Management Professionals will provide practice management services to the northern Ohio practice, including physician billing with a focus on managed care contracts and increased revenue. The medical group wants to improve its bottom line by improving collections and reducing expenses.
Advanced Radiologic Physicians works with Wood County Hospital and the Toledo Clinic, providing imaging services. The practice currently bills more than 5,000 cases per month.
Patrick Gustine, MD, said the practice's strategic goals include revenue enhancement, financial management, hospital negotiations and risk analysis.
"We identified a need for more expertise in the management and billing arena of our practice due to the growing coding and compliance issues that were impacting our cash flow," said Gustine.
Darrell Hulsey, president and CEO of MMP, said Advanced Radiologic Physicians needs improvement in collections as well as high-level, complex practice management services that it was not able to do in-house.
He said MMP is working to enhance the practice's billing methods, staffing and other business strategies in order to increase revenue.
