With just two weeks left in 2015's open enrollment period, close to 395,000 consumers either signed up for or renewed health insurance coverage during week four November 22-28, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Of those, 36 percent were new consumers and 64 percent were consumers renewing their coverage. So far this year, a little more than 2 million people have enrolled and the total applications submitted for this period is close to 3.5 million.

Both call centers and healthcare.gov continued to see heavy traffic, with about 515,000 people contacting call centers, including Spanish-speaking representatives, and more than 2 million consumers logging on to healthcare.gov or its Spanish-language counterpart this week alone.

Overall, those websites have seen almost 8.9 million visitors during this year's open enrollment period.

This year's open enrollment period ends on December 15.
