Northwest Hospital & Medical Center, a 281-bed acute care hospital, has agreed to an expanded affiliation with the University of Washington Medicine health system.
The University of Washington Board of Regents endorsed the expanded affiliation agreement at a Sept. 17 meeting. Northwest Hospital will become the newest entity of UW Medicine, joining the current entities that include
Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center, and the UW School of Medicine.
UW Medicine and Northwest expect to finalize the transaction by December 31, 2009.
