Sevocity expands EHR grant program to S.C. and Georgia

By Molly Merrill

To assist small to medium-sized practices and community health centers in Georgia and South Carolina, electronic health record provider Sevocity will offer up to $100,000 in grants to spur clinics in these states to adopt EHRs.

The program is part of Sevocity's nationwide expansion and complements a similar program in Florida, launched earlier in July, which offered $50,000 in grants for the adoption of EHRS.

Cathy Huddle, vice president of market development at Sevocity, said Matt Hallman, an industry veteran with 20 years of practice administration and health IT experience, has joined the team as regional account manager and will oversee the grant program.

"Georgia and South Carolina are important markets for Sevocity and we are excited that Matt will lead our expansion efforts," said Huddle.

San Antonio, Texas-based Sevocity, a division of Conceptual MindWorks, Inc., develops, maintains and supports EHRs for physician practices and community health centers.

Each state will be offered $50,000, and the grants will be available for the first few clinics that sign up for the program or until the maximum funds available have been reached.

"I have worked with other Electronic Health Records and, by comparison, I believe Sevocity will be much easier for practices and clinics to use and achieve the efficiency improvements and cost-savings associated with EHRs," said Hallman. "The grant program, combined with Sevocity's affordable pricing model, will be a great help to clinics in Georgia and South Carolina that want to benefit from EHRs."
