Hyland, VHA sign deal to expand OnBase network
Hyland Software, the Cleveland-based developer of the OnBase enterprise document management software suite, has signed an agreement with the national healthcare alliance VHA, Inc. The agreement allows Hyland to provide its document management solutions to VHA’s 1,400 member hospitals and 21,000 non-acute healthcare organizations at a discounted price. “This agreement builds upon Hyland Software’s existing achievements with VHA organizations across the country,” said Ed McQuiston, the company’s director of healthcare solutions.
Bankrupt AcerMed bought by Ophthalmic Imaging
AcerMed, Inc., an Irvine, Calif.-based vendor of CCHIT-certified ambulatory electronic medical records and practice management software solutions, has been acquired by Ophthalmic Imaging Systems of Sacramento, Calif. The company, a majority-owned subsidiary of MediVision and provider of ophthalmic digital imaging and informatics solutions, announced the deal on Jan. 9 through its newly created subsidiary, Abraxas Medical Solutions, Inc. AcerMed filed for bankruptcy protection last fall, listing $1.2 million in assets and $3.6 million in debt.
Transworld, LeonardoMD eye collections program
Transworld Systems, Inc., a Santa Rosa, Calif.-based provider of profit recovery solutions for medical practices, is teaming up with LeonardoMD, a San Diego-based provider of Web-based practice management and clinical software solutions, to create a program to improve collections. Transworld’s GreenFlag Profit Recovery service will now be offered to LeonardoMD clients at preferred pricing. The new interface being offered in the collaboration allows medical clinics to flag delinquent accounts, thereby sending them immediately to Transworld Systems, which handles the collections.
Metavante adds RepayMe tools with BenSoft deal
Metavante, a Milwaukee-based provider of banking and payment technology, has announced plans to acquire BenSoft Inc., a San Diego-based provider of solutions for third-party administrators, health plans and self-administrating employees. Metavante will integrate RepayMe, software that provides a Web-based tool for individuals who participate in benefit programs to obtain reimbursement for eligible expenses that are covered by their benefit plans, into its existing Healthcare Payment Solutions suite of products.
