Nextgen healthcare launches practice solutions
NextGen Healthcare has launched NextGen Practice Solutions, a business division directed toward providing physician practices with revenue cycle management (RCM) services. The new division will combine NextGen’s software platform with a Web-delivered software-as-a-service model, offering such services as eligibility checking, charge capture, claims scrubbing, electronic claims submission, payment posting, patient correspondence, image/document management, accounts receivable follow-up, call center and electronic medical records. In addition, clients will be able to deploy NextGen EMR as part of the Practice Solutions implementation.
US preventive medicine to market content in UK
Dallas-based U.S. Preventive Medicine, a provider of prevention-based services for hospitals and healthcare providers, is branching out across the Atlantic with the news that it has signed a letter of intent with iHealth U.K. to jointly develop three preventive medicine businesses in the United Kingdom. The deal, expected to be completed in January 2008, allows iHealth to leverage USPM’s systems, operating procedures and branding and marketing materials – including The Prevention Plan – to market preventive healthcare services in the U.K. and other international markets.
Spring Medical launches interface partner program
Spring Medical, a provider of electronic health records services for small physician practices, has launched the SpringCharts Certified Interface Partner program, designed to provide and integrated, best-of-breed EMR and Practice Management solution rather than one strong EMR solution with weaker add-ons. To that end, Spring Medical is partnering with NueSoft Technologies to integrate its SpringCharts EMR solution with NueSoft’s NueMD PM solution.
Emdeon Business services acquires IXT solutions
Emdeon Business Services has purchased IXT Solutions, a provider of consumer billing and payment solutions, for an undisclosed amount of money. Both companies are based in Nashville, Tenn., and the purchase bolsters Emdeon’s healthcare portfolio by adding IXT’s online patient billing, eCashiering, return mail management and lockbox services. “The addition of IXT demonstrates Emdeon’s commitment to delivering industry leading revenue cycle management solutions to our provider customers,” said George Lazenby, Emdeon’s CEO.
