Omtool announces deal to purchase BlueChip Tech.

Omtool, Ltd. of Andover, Mass., a provider of document handling solutions, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire BlueChip Technologies, Ltd. of Danvers, Mass., a privately held provider of electronic forms automation, document imaging and object archiving solutions to the healthcare market. The $4.1 million deal will allow Omtool to extend its AccuRoute product line to include BlueChip’s solutions for document imaging and workflow solutions for hospital admissions and billing functions.

TriZetto agrees to acquire Plan Data Management

The TriZetto Group of Newport Beach, Calif. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Plan Data Management, Inc., a provider of revenue enhancement software and administrative efficiency solutions for payers that service members in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D and Medicaid plans. The deal is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2006.

GE Healthcare to be used at UConn, Dempsey Hospital

GE Healthcare has announced that the University of Connecticut Health Center and John Dempsey Hospital have selected GE’s Centricity Business Access Management Suite and Patient Financials Suite, hosted by GE Healthcare, via an Application Service Provider (ASP) model. Linda Shanley, assistant vice president for Clinical Enterprise Systems at UConn’s Health Center, said the decision to move toward an ASP model for GE’s Centricity Business will increase efficiency and cost effectiveness while keeping up with the latest financial management tools and technologies. GE Healthcare is based in Barrington, Ill.

Enclarity, Fair Isaac Corp. form strategic partnership

Enclarity, Inc., an Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based information management and analytic software company focused on the healthcare market, has formed a strategic partnership with the Fair Isaac Corporation, a provider of analytics and decision management technology. Enclarity’s ProviderPoint data integration solution and Fair Isaac’s marketing analytics and ScoreNet network will be used in tandem to help pharmaceutical industry customers market their products and services to physicians, the companies say.
