Survey analysis: ACA and the Supreme Court

By Jamie Thompson

Healthcare Finance News recently held a survey about the future of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Some groups oppose the ACA, suggesting that it is unconstitutional for Congress to require Americans to purchase health insurance. Following a recent ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the possibility of the Supreme Court taking on the case has come into debate.

Healthcare Finance News readers were split on the issue, with 55% believing that the Supreme Court should decide the future of the ACA.

At this stage, the Supreme Court is holding off on deciding to take the case until the appellate court outcomes arise.

The date range of the survey was March 28, 2011 to April 7, 2011.
