The University of California San Diego Medical Center has contracted with a third-party vendor for accounts receivable management services.
Cymetrix, an Irvine, Calif.-based company specializing in revenue cycle management services for hospitals and healthcare networks, will take over the management of A/R for the medical center.
Cymetrix touts its technology-enhanced services for hospital patient accounts departments, including online claim-status capabilities and performance monitoring tools.
The UC San Diego Medical Center comprises the system of patient services provided at the UC San Diego Medical Center, UC San Diego Thornton Hospital in La Jolla, Calif., the Moores UCSD Cancer Center, the UCSD Shiley Eye Center and other primary and specialty practices of the UC San Diego Medical Group located throughout San Diego County.
The two hospitals, UC San Diego Medical Center and Thornton Hospital, have a combined licensed capacity of 548 beds.
