U.S. HealthWorks, a Valencia, Calif.-based operator of occupational healthcare and urgent care centers, has acquired the Medero Medical Caring for Workers Center in Ocala, Fla., its 12th location in that state.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This is the first center for U.S. HealthWorks in the Ocala area.
The acquisition expands the number of U.S. HealthWorks-operated medical centers and worksite clinics to 159 nationwide.
"We are excited to expand our footprint in Florida with the acquisition of this center in Ocala. The superb Medero medical team is remaining on board with us and we’re looking forward to serving our clients and patients,” said Gregory Marotta, U.S. Healthworks' vice president of operations for the east division.
The Ocala center provides occupational health services, including injury and illness diagnosis and treatment, preventive services, pre-placement and post-offer exams and testing and return-to-work programs.
"The integration of the five Medero Medical centers last year into U.S. HealthWorks was very positive and we are pleased to see the final Medero clinic join U.S. HealthWorks,” said Cookie Dominie, manager of Medero Medical.
U.S. HealthWorks has acquired 30 centers since January 2007.
