Vendor Notebook - ActiveHealth pairs disease management with VBID

ActiveHealth Management of New York has rolled out a new solution that combines its disease management (DM) program with a value-based insurance design (VBID) incentive. The company's CareEngine system powers Active Disease Management and the VBID program, allowing individuals with chronic conditions to qualify for reduced co-payments on their medications when they engage in disease management nurse coaching.

athenahealth, Inc., of Watertown, Mass., has announced that the e-prescribing service component of its athenaClinicals EHR has received additional Surescripts certification for Prescription Benefit and Prescription History (for payers) and Prescription Routing of new prescriptions to mail order pharmacies. The company has also launched a new Clinical Intelligence Team (CIT) as part of its electronic health record and practice management services platform, called athenaNet. This new service team will look to deliver the maximum allowable stimulus benefits for providers and ensure that the athenaClinicals EHR is continuously updated and compliant with the HITECH Act reporting requirements, PQRI and other national P4P programs.

Craneware, an Orlando, Fla.-based provider of financial performance solutions for healthcare providers, has signed an agreement with Premier Purchasing Partners, LP, the group purchasing unit of Premier, Inc., to offer performance software and services to its more than 2,100 member and client hospitals and more than 54,000 other healthcare providers.
