Vendor Notebook - Baltimore company implements MicroMD PM

Henry Schein Medical Systems, a Boardman, Ohio-based provider of practice management (PM) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, has announced that Advanced Medical Management of Baltimore, Md. will implement MicroMD PM at 23 Maryland-based locations representing 40 providers.

The PSC Info Group of Valley Forge, Pa. has introduced PAYMENTExpress, an electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) system for healthcare providers that’s designed to enable the creation, presentation and payment of bills over the Internet.

AHI Software, Inc., a Miami-based developer of on-demand patient access management products, has signed a multi-year agreement with St. James Healthcare in Butte, Mont. for its AHIQA registration quality assurance service.

MedSynergies, Inc., a Dallas-based developer of revenue cycle services and technology, including advanced analytics and reporting platforms, has been selected by the Southwest Washington Health System in Vancouver, Wash. to provide revenue and performance management software and services for its affiliated medical group.

Cielo MedSolutions, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based provider of healthcare software and Web applications, has announced that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has qualified the company’s Cielo Clinic clinical quality management system for submissions of Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) quality data to CMS.

Aethon, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based developer of mobile robotics for hospital supply chain logistics, has announced the close of a successful $14 million financing round led by two new investors, Nexus Medical partners and Radius Ventures.

The TriZetto Group of Newport Beach, Calif. has been selected by Western & Southern Financial Group to upgrade the financial services company’s core administration systems from TriZetto’s ClaimFacts product to its Facets 4.51 application.

MedCom USA, Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based provider of HIPAA-compliant healthcare and financial transaction services for the healthcare industry, has completed the asset purchase of PayMed USA, LLC and Absolute Medical Software Systems, LLC, two providers of practice management, electronic medical records and revenue cycle management software to hospitals, surgery centers and physician practices.

Healthcare Realty Trust, Inc. of Nashville, Tenn. said it expects to raise $170.5 million through an offering of new stock, pricing 7 million new shares at $25.50 per share. The company expects to use the proceeds to pay for recently closed and planned purchases of medical offices and other facilities.

GE Healthcare has announced a partnership with Grameen Health, an affiliate of Grameen Bank, a Bangladesh-based micro-financing organization that shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for its work to alleviate poverty, to develop sustainable models for healthcare delivery in the developing world. The joint project will begin in Bangladesh, then spread to other parts of the globe.
