Vendor Notebook - CardWorks selected for Humana Visa card

CardWorks Servicing, LLC of Woodbury, N.Y. has been selected to service the new HumanaAdvance Visa Card. The company will partner with E-Duction, Inc., a provider of employment-based payment solutions, to offer the card for one of the nation's largest health benefits companies.

Accuro Healthcare Solutions, Inc. of Dallas has announced the acquisition of TPMS, Inc., a Framingham, Mass.-based provider of contract management services to boost its presence in the revenue cycle management market.

Nursefinders, Inc., an Arlington, Texas-based healthcare staffing company, has acquired Resources on Call, a Hickory, N.C.-based independent allied staffing company, providing a range of travel allied professionals with an emphasis on imaging and medical laboratory technologists.

Information Builders, a New York-based provider of business intelligence systems, has announced that the University of Virginia Department of Medicine has chosen the company's WebFOCUS BI platform to help streamline clinical and financial reporting across 10 divisions.

Guardian Technologies International, Inc., a Herndon, Va.-based developer of imaging informatics solutions, has entered into definitive agreements with five existing and four new accredited investors for the private placement of approximately 10 million shares of common stock at a purchase price of 70 cents per share. The company plans to use the projected proceeds of $70 million to advance its international business development activities, for healthcare research and development activities and to fund general corporate operations.

Workstream, Inc., a Maitland, Fla.-based provider of on-demand compensation, performance and talent management solutions, has announced that the Marshfield Clinic, a Wisconsin-based specialty group-practice healthcare provider, has selected the company's TalentCenter solution.

 

mPay Gateway, a Minneapolis-based company specializing in point-of-care patient payments, has announced that Minneapolis/St. Paul-based Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates, comprising 18 providers, will implement the mPay Gateway solution.

Dallas-based Claimsnet.com has signed an agreement with Aetna to provide electronic healthcare transactions services. Under terms of the agreement, Claimsnet will deliver claims and receive electronic remittance advice (ERA) to and from Aetna on behalf of its healthcare providers.
