Vendor Notebook: Cincinnati provider rolls out D2 Sales check-in kiosk

D2 Sales, LLC, based in Mequon, Wis., has announced that the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati has completed pilot testing and is rolling out the company’s My Patient Passport Express healthcare check-in kiosk.

The QuadraMed Corporation, a Reston, Va.-based provider of healthcare information and revenue cycle management solutions, has announced the general availability of Quantim Workflow, part of Quantim Health Information Management solutions, designed to allow single- and multi-facility hospitals to automate the distribution and allocation of coding, compliance and other HIM work assignments.

CDW Healthcare, based in Vernon Hills, Ill., and the Cerner Corporation of Kansas City, Mo., have launched the Tech Rx Transformation Contest, designed to offer physician practices around the country the opportunity to receive an end-to-end electronic health record solution valued at up to $50,000, as well as support services from both companies. The contest, which runs through Jan. 22, 2010, requires physician practices to describe why their practice needs and EHR or practice management system.

Greatwater Software, an Orlando, Fla.-based provider of healthcare self-service applications, has changed the name of the company to PatientPoint, Inc., which is also the name of the company’s flagship line of self-service kiosks.

Microsoft, based in Redmond, Wash., has announced plans to acquire Andover, Mass.-based Sentillion, Inc., and include the company’s products with its Amalga Unified Intelligence System.

Picis, Inc., based in Wakefield, Mass., has announced that 67 healthcare facilities, representing more than 2.5 million annual emergency department patient visits, have selected the Picis LYNX E/Point revenue management solution over the past two quarters.

Siemens Healthcare, based in Malvern, Pa., has signed a seven-year agreement with Cape Cod Healthcare in Cape Cod, Mass., to implement the Soarian health information system, including Soarian Financials, Clinicals, Device Connect, Scheduling and Analytics, along with NOVIUS Lab and Radiology, Siemens Pharmacy and Med Administration Check.

Epocrates, Inc., a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of clinical information and decision support tools for healthcare professionals, has launched Epocrates Essentials Deluxe, a premium software suite for the iPhone that’s designed to offer reference, diagnosis, decision support and billing information on one platform.

Siemens Healthcare, based in Malvern, Pa., has launched a series of flexible financing solutions designed to help healthcare providers meet the “meaningful use” definition of the HITECH provision of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

SUNRx, a Mount Laurel, N.J.-based provider of automated solutions for federally qualified health centers and disproportionate share hospitals for the administration of government 340B discount drug pricing programs, has become a member of the Northwest Regional Primary Care Association, based in Seattle.
