Vendor Notebook - Craneware inks deal with Catholic Health

Craneware, based in Orlando, Fla., has announced contracts with San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West and Newtown Square, Pa.-based Catholic Health East for the delivery of Craneware’s Chargemaster Toolkit software suite and the company’s newest product, Pharmacy ChargeLink.

MedeFile International, Inc. has launched its Community Outreach Program (COP Initiative), designed to provide the nation’s law enforcement agencies and first responders with funding for healthcare technologies. In addition, the company has announced that an exclusive, members-only community in southern Florida has acquired more than 200 MedeFile memberships and is offering the company’s full suite of products and services to its 1,400 members.

Seattle-based OCS, Inc. has released PPS Clinical Optimizer, an automated daily clinical information tool designed to help improve agency success under PPS 2008 reimbursement.

McKesson has announced that Riverside Medical Center, a 336-bed hospital in Kankakee, Ill., has selected the company’s Practice Partner Patient Records, Appointment Scheduler and Medical Billing software products for its affiliated physicians. In addition, the company has announced that it is one of eight certified EHR vendors selected to participate in the American College of Physicians’ EHR Partners Program.

Cardinal Health of Dublin, Ohio has announced the availability of the Supply Performance Dashboard, an online tool for hospitals to view automated medical supply dispensing performance data that identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency of the supply chain.

TECSYS, Inc. of Montreal has announced that Orlando Health has selected the company’s warehouse and distribution management solutions to enable its recently adopted self-distribution model.

MediSolution Ltd. has announced that Eastern Health, the largest integrated health organization in the Canadian regions of Newfoundland and Labrador, will expand the deployment of MediSolution’s Virtuo Human Resource (HR) solution throughout the organization. The contract includes Virtuo HR’s Recruitment, Personnel and Training modules.

The MedaSorb Technologies Corp. of Monmouth Junction, N.J., a developer of platform technology for the removal of toxins from blood and physiologic fluids, has closed a $4.45 million private placement of its Series B 10 Percent Cumulative Convertible Preferred Stock. The funding is targeted for a Sepsis study currently underway in Germany.

Medworxx Soluions, Inc. of Toronto has engaged Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon Ltd. to lead a brokered private placement to raise up to $4.2 million through the issuance of units. This replaces the previous private placement announced on May 8. Each unit consists of 1½ shares of common stock. Proceeds from the private placement will be used for the acquisition of HealthCast, Inc., sales and marketing of the Medworxx Emergency Readiness System, additional research and development of the company’s software, other strategic acquisitions and working capital.

Gold Standard, an Elsevier company, has announced that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has added “Clinical Pharmacology,” the company’s drug information and medication management reference, to the list of Medicare anti-cancer treatment compendia used in determining which drugs may be covered under Medicare Part B to treat patients undergoing cancer treatment through chemotherapy.

Docusys, Inc. of Atlanta has announced a partnership with HMS Technologies, Inc., and the company’s anesthesia information management, medication management and presurgical care management software systems have been approved for sale on the HMS GSA Schedule 70 contract, contract number GS-35F-0834R.

SunGard, based in Wayne, Pa., has acquired Delphi Technologies Limited of Dublin, Ireland, a provider of consulting services and managed professional services to Ireland’s financial services, insurance and telecommunications industries.
