Vendor Notebook: First National Merchant speeds up payment

First National Merchant Solutions, based in Omaha, Neb., has launched First Paid Healthcare Solutions, a suite of products designed to help speed up the payment process, eliminate confusion and pare and cut costs for healthcare providers.

The MRO Corp., a King of Prussia, Pa.-based developer of shared-service, release-of-information and audit tracking solutions for healthcare providers, has announced that Shore Memorial Hospital of Somers Point, N.J. will implement the company’s Audit Tracker Online to help manage the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) process and other payer audits.

HealthFusion, based in Solana Beach, Calif., has announced that Provider’s Choice Medical Billing, a Fort Myers, Fla.-based medical billing company representing more than 170 physician practices, will be using the company’s Web-based clearinghouse and insurance claims services.

Quantros, a San Francisco-based provider of safety and quality software and professional services solutions for the healthcare industry, has updated its Regulatory Reporting Management (RRM) hospital performance improvement solution to coincide with the National Hospital Quality Measures (NHQM) updates for October 2009 discharges.

Allviant, Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based developer of consumer-centric healthcare tools, has unveiled CarePass, an untethered, “smart” technology available on Allviant’s SRM platform that includes capabilities such as remote appointment check-in, preventive reminders like flu vaccinations, health savings account and benefit status, and corporate wellness program prompts and registration.

The QuadraMed Corporation of Reston, Va., has launched its ICD-10 Countdown Program, which includes the Quantim ICD-10 Coding Simulator software, ICD-10 educational tools and services to help healthcare providers prepare for ICD-10 conversion.

athenahealth, Inc., of Watertown, Mass., has announced plans to acquire Anodyne Health Partners, Inc., an Alpharetta, Ga.-based provider of software-as-a-service business intelligence solutions for healthcare providers.
Aprima Medical Software, a Dallas-based developer of electronic health record and practice management systems for medical practices, has announced a partnership with Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) to offer its physician practice customers access to IMO’s code and terminology mappings, expanded search capabilities and vocabulary products, including IMO Problem IT and IMO Procedure IT.

Elsevier, a publisher of medical information products and services, has donated more than 5,000 books to medical universities, colleges and schools in Midwest China in cooperation with Peking University Medical Press.

Consumer Health Technologies, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based developer of consumer-directed healthcare software and solutions, has released version 3.2 of its BenefitSpan platform for CDHC administration, which manages HSA, HRA and FSA accounts, delivers workflow and process automation and integrates other healthcare services.
