Vendor Notebook: Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. closes on $275M credit facility

Healthcare Trust of America, Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based self-managed, non-traded real estate investment trust, has closed on a $275 million unsecured revolving credit facility with JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., as administrative agent, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., as syndication agents and the U.S. Bank Association and Fifth Third Bank as documentation agents.
AMN Healthcare, a San Diego-based healthcare staffing and workforce solutions provider, has amended the contract between its Nursefinders division and VHA, Inc., the Irving, Texas-based national network of healthcare providers, to allow VHA members to access all of AMN Healthcare’s offerings, including temporary staffing needs and managed service programs for nurses, allied healthcare professionals, pharmacists and others,
Madison Healthcare Insurance Services, Inc., a Huntington Beach, Calif.-based insurance brokerage that specializes in medical malpractice and workers compensation insurance, has announced plans to increase its social media presence through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
VHA, Inc., an Irving, Texas-based national healthcare network, has announced a deal with Salt Lake City-based 3M Health Information Systems to offer 3M ICD-10 transition services and advanced 3M performance management software to its 1,400 hospital members.

Aetna, based in Hartford, Conn., has entered into an agreement to purchase Medicity, a Salt Lake City-based health information technology company that focuses on health information exchange solutions.
Ascent, a Phoenix, Ariz.-based developer of healthcare resource sustainability solutions, has been awarded a single-source contract for reprocessing services under the Premier healthcare alliance’s Accelerated Supply Chain Endeavor (ASCEND) program. Effective Feb. 1, 2011, the contract is available to the 120 members of the ASCEND program.
Amerinet, a St. Louis-based healthcare group purchasing organization, has completed a national account agreement with The Pain Group, headquartered in Atlantic Beach, Fla., to provide service to pain management practices and physicians in more than 30 states.
MedAssets, based in Atlanta, has signed a long-term agreement with Ascension Health, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health system, to deploy the company’s suite of charge integrity solutions and consulting services in more than 65 of its acute care locations across the country. The MedAssets tools to be implemented include CDM Master, Price Master, KnowledgeSource, CrossWalk and CrossWalk Pharmacy. In addition, the company has announced that the Jackson Health System of Miami-Dade County, Fla., will use MedAssets tools and services to lower supply costs, drive operational efficiencies and engage physicians in cost and clinical use management improvement processes.
HealthPort, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based provider of health information technology services, has entered into an agreement to sell its Solution Services Division, based in Columbia, S.C., to CompuGroup Medical AG.
Medworxx, a Toronto-based provider of healthcare solutions that address patient flow, compliance and education, has announced that St. Michael’s Hospital of Toronto has gone live on the company’s Bed Optimization System, helping to manage 460 beds.

Compliance 360, an Atlanta-based provider of solutions for enterprise governance, risk management and compliance, has extended its “Cash-for-Clunkers” trade-in program for healthcare providers through May 31, 2011. The program provides discounts to providers who initially invested in low-end, limited-functionality software applications for managing overpayment recovery audits, including Medicare and Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor audits and Medicaid Integrity Contractor audits.
Alpha II, a Montgomery, Ala.-based developer of coding, compliance and reimbursement tools, has announced the integration of its CodeWizard software with Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based First Medical Solutions’ First Medical Suite, a combination of the FirstEMR electronic medical record and First Medical Office practice management system.

Stat Health Services Inc., based in Scottsdale, Ariz., has announced a partnership with Scottsdale Healthcare to offer the company’s STAT DOCTORS eHealth service as a supplemental health and wellness benefit for Scottsdale Healthcare’s employees and their covered dependents.
