Arlington, Va.-based Vangent, a provider of healthcare technology services, is partnering with Human Arc, a Cleveland-based provider of revenue enhancement services to health plans, to help qualifying Medicare health plan members initially apply for and retain special federal assistance, thereby making prescription drugs more affordable.

Integrated Pain Solutions of Orlando, Fla., a wholly owned subsidiary of PainCare Holdings, Inc., has signed an agreement with Coalition America, Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of medical claim savings solutions, to help CAI in cost containment programs and pain-related medical treatment for patients associated with CAI's national customer base of employers, insurers, payers, HMOs, re-insurers and managed general underwriters.

Plexis Healthcare Solutions of Ashland, Ore. has announced that Cochise Health Systems, an Arizona county health program that contracts with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment Systems to administer Medicaid long-term care programs, has selected Plexis Claims Manager to automate its claims processing, benefits administration and EDIWorks to provide and electronic data interchange solution.

Alere Medical, Inc. of Reno, Nev. has announced that the State of Colorado has hired the company to manage its Medicaid recipients with heart failure. The new contract follows a similar contract forged by Alere with the state to manage its Medicaid asthma patients.

Sprint and Allscripts are joining forces on a project whereby Sprint will be donating customized PCS Vision Smart Device PPC-6700s to 1,000 licensed physicians who register for the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative (NEPSI) and activate NEPSI's Web-based e-Rx NOW electronic prescribing software before Sept. 15.

MediTract, Inc., a Saddle Brook, N.J.-based contract management service provider exclusively serving the healthcare industry, has announced a recapitalization through investments made by Tudor Ventures and GE Healthcare Financial Services. The two groups will join a group led by MediTract's chairman and CEO, Thomas A. Rizk, as principal owners of a new holding company for MediTract, Inc.
