Louisville, Ky.-based SHPS, a provider of health advocacy and health benefits solutions, has announced an expanded agreement with The EPOCH Group, one of the nation's largest third party administrators (TPAs) for self-funded healthcare plans, to offer SHPS' entire integrated care management solution to EPOCH clients.

The Payformance Corporation, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based provider of electronic funds transfer (EFT) and electronic remittance advice (ERA) services, has announced the signing of its 11th health plan. Implementations of the company's PaySpan Health claim settlement solution are complete for eight healthcare insurance plans, while implementations for the other three are underway.

Sage Software of Atlanta has announced the availability of Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Nonprofits 2008, offering small nonprofits new consumer-driven features and enhancements for document management and reports and forms use.

Nuesoft Technologies of Atlanta has signed an agreement with 3M Health Information Systems to offer coding compliance editing capabilities and medical necessity validation as added functions to its NueMD and Nuesoft Xpress practice management software applications.

APS Healthcare of Silver Spring, Md. has received a contract to provide utilization review services for the Alabama Medicaid Agency. APS will perform prior authorization review and associated medical criteria development; long-term care utilization review, including hospice pre-certification; hospice concurrent review and retrospective review of institutional admissions; and quality and outcome review.

Corticon Technologies, a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of business rules management software, has announced that the Precedent Insurance Company, a subsidiary of the American Community Mutual Insurance Company, has selected the Corticon Business Rules Management System to help develop and manage its direct-to-consumer healthcare insurance solution, to be called REMIX.

Integrated Pain Solutions, LLC of Orlando, Fla. and MedeFile International, Inc. of Cedar Knolls, N.J. have announced a collaboration on the integration of MedeFile's electronic medical record management solutions into IPS' managed services offerings, providing a solution for medical insurers, workers compensation carriers and self-insured trade unions and employer groups.

MDwerks, Inc. of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and Medical Solutions Management, Inc. of Marlboro, Mass. have signed a cross-marketing agreement between MDWerks' Xeni Medical Systems, Inc. subsidiary and MSMI. MDWerks and Xeni are providers of Web-based electronic claims management and funding solutions, while MSMI provides healthcare revenue participating programs through the delivery of billing, procurement and reimbursement solutions.

Atlanta-based MedAssets, Inc. has entered into an agreement to buy MD-X Solutions, Inc., a Mahwah, N.J.-based provider of revenue cycle technology and services. The agreement, expected to be completed in July, will expand MedAssets' Net Revenue Systems offering to include Business Office outsourcing solutions, Denials Management software and services, HIM-compliant documentation, point-of-service collections improvement and "Silent PPO" Discount Recovery.

MicroStrategy Incorporated, a McLean, Va.-based provider of business intelligence software, has announced that The Advisory Board Company, a worldwide healthcare research and professional services firm serving more than 2,600 hospitals and health systems, has selected the company to provide its members with enhanced visibility into financial, operational and clinical performance.

Verticals onDemand, a Pleasanton, Calif.-based developer of industry-specific on-demand CRM solutions for the life sciences industry, and Yardley, Pa.-based MediMedia Information Technologies will integrate their solutions to provide pharmaceutical managed care teams with on-demand CRM solutions pre-loaded with formulary data.

MEDecision, Inc. of Wayne, Pa. has launched a six-month pilot program to provide a Patient Clinical Summary (PCS) to the Memphis Managed Care Corporation, a participant in Tennessee's TennCare Medicaid program. MMCC will deliver the PCS to West Tennessee provider groups and independent practice associations participating in a state-supported pay-for-performance program.

The Fair Isaac Corporation of Minneapolis, Minn. has announced that it will team with FairPay Solutions, a specialty review company, to offer enhanced workers' compensation services. The agreement will enable Fair Isaac to offer FairPay's cost containment analytics services to Fair Isaac's clients, including licensed and ASP clients of Fair Isaac SmartAdvisor workers' compensation medical bill review software, and outsourced bill review customers of the company's Insurance Service Bureau.

HealthEdge Software, Inc. of Burlington, Mass. has unveiled HealthRules Answers, a Web-based, real-time business intelligence solution that, integrated with HealthRules Payor, the company's next-generation claims administration platform, allows payers to perform sophisticated reporting and analytics. In addition, HealthEdge and ADVIZOR Solutions Inc., a Downers Grove, Ill.-based provider of business intelligence tools, are partnering to embed ADVIZOR's visualization and analytics technology in HealthRules Answers.

Workstream, Inc., a Burlingame, Calif.-based provider of on-demand compensation, performance and talent management solutions, has unveiled three new on-demand solutions – Workstream Recruitment Professional, Workstream Performance Professional and Workstream Development Professional – geared toward businesses of 100 to 2,500 employees.

Emeryville, Calif.-based MedeFinance has been selected by Blue Shield of California to strengthen and streamline the non-profit health plan's provider communications and processes.

Infocrossing, Inc., a Leonia, N.J.-based provider of selective IT infrastructure, enterprise application and business process outsourcing services, has unveiled Q/Advantage, a Medicare prescription drug coverage and premium billing solution for Medicare Advantage and Part D plans.
