Raleigh, N.C.-based DocSite, a provider of Web-based patient registries and point-of-care decision support to the healthcare market, has announced that Middlesex Professional Services, Inc., an independent physician association based in Middletown, Conn., has implemented DocSite's Registry with Decision Support to improve patient outcomes and enhance physician reimbursement for delivering quality care under a pay-for=-performance program.

Lawson Software of St. Paul, Minn. has acquired VasTech, an Annapolis, Md.-based provider of workforce management software and services.

Picis, Inc. of Wakefield, Mass. has announced that the Houston-based Methodist Hospital System has selected Picis CareSuite, a total perioperative automation system, to automate the clinical, administrative and financial functions of more than 80 operating rooms across the Methodist network.

The Eclipsys Corporation has unveiled Sunrise Enterprise, billed as a suite of solutions to help healthcare organizations improve clinical, financial and operational outcomes. Sunrise Enterprise includes release 5.0 of Sunrise Clinical Manager and Sunrise Access Manager, now available on the Eclipsys XA extended architecture. In addition, Eclipsys has announced the acquisition of Enterprise Performance Systems, Inc. (EPSi) of St. Louis, a provider of business performance improvement solutions.

Avnet Technology Solutions has announced the launch of an independent software vendor (ISV) ecosystem designed specifically for the healthcare technology market. Through the system, Avnet will enable partners to provide complete healthcare solutions. Initial ISVs participating in the program are BridgeHead Software, Compressus, Inc., HIPAA Solutions and Sentillion.

Medical Present Value, Inc. of Austin, Texas has announced that four western-based multi-specialty groups will use MPV's Phynance application to import payer contract management processes and audit reimbursement. They are the Intermountain Medical Group of Salt Lake City, the Oregon Health Sciences University Medical Group of Portland, Ore., the UC Davis Health System of Sacramento, Calif. and the Talbert Medical Group of Costa Mesa, Calif.

TSYS Healthcare of Minneapolis has launched a new benefits payment system and announced that the Fringe Benefits Management Company of Tallahassee, Fla. will be the first third-party administrator to use the solution.

Keane, Inc. of San Ramon, Calif. has been awarded a contract with Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, N.Y. to install Keane's EZ-Access Patcom and a host of new revenue cycle management and clinical applications that will streamline into the hospital's operations and billing.

 

BancTec, a Dallas-based provider of document and payment processing solutions, has signed a five-year agreement with Pinnacle Financial Partners of Nashville, Tenn., through which Pinnacle will market BancTec's RemitCycle 360 solution as an outsourced RCM offering to healthcare providers in the southeastern United States.

Perot Systems of Plano, Texas has announced that it has successfully implemented the NextGen suite of integrated Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management solutions at the Oakwood Healthcare System in southeastern Michigan.

Chesapeake System Solutions of Owings Mills, Md., a provider of automated reconciliation, treasury workstation, bank data management, bank account analysis, bank relationship management and compliance software, has announced that its SmartAnalysis software has been implemented successfully at National Life Group in Montpelier, Vt.

Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth, Inc. has announced that Community Health Systems, Inc., which owns of operates more than 125 hospitals in 28 states, will replace its current practice management and billing systems with the athenaCollectorSM practice management and billing service.

Siemens has announced that the Christiana Care Health System, a 1,000-bed regional healthcare system based in Wilmington, Del., will implement Soarian Financials, Soarian Scheduling, Enterprise Document Management and Siemens Decision Support solutions.

Misys Healthcare of Raleigh, N.C. has unveiled Misys MyWay for Communities, an integrated solution for hospitals to donate to affiliated and community-based medical practices. The product was prompted by the Stark Law exception and Anti-Kickback Safe Harbor, which were enacted to make it permissible for hospitals to donate interoperable EMR software to physician offices.

Hartford, Wis.-based API Software, Inc. has announced that Halifax Regional Medical Center, a 206-bed acute care community medical center in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., has chosen API's Payrollmation system for time and attendance automation and API's SecurALL system for access control.

Infor has announced healthcare-specific enhancements to Infor HCM Workforce Management (previously Workbrain) that enable healthcare providers to manage personnel resources by using several new reporting tools and automating pay rules and conditions. The enhancements include Absence Management, which automates the complete absence and leave process through a centralized system that provides insight on demand into the effects of absenteeism in the workplace.
