Vendor Notebook: McKesson announces collaboration with Emergency Nurses Association

The McKesson Corporation of Atlanta has announced an ED Benchmarks Collaborative with the Emergency Nurses Association. The online service is designed to enable hospitals to employ business intelligence tools to improve emergency department throughput, capacity management and quality of care.

GE Healthcare, based in Barrington, Ill., has announced that East Orange General Hospital in east Orange, N.J., has purchased the company’s Centricity Enterprise electronic medical record. The EMR will be implemented under GE’s Digital Day One offering for rapid implementation and delivered remotely under an Application Service Provider model.

ConnectYourCare, a Hunt Valley, Md.-based provider of consumer-directed healthcare account management solutions, has been selected by the state of Maryland for the administration of its flexible spending accounts (FSAs).

MedAptus, a Boston-based provider of charge capture technology solutions, has expanded its Consulting Services department to assist provider groups and hospitals.

MedAssets, Inc., based in Atlanta, has announced that the Hays Center of Hays, Kan., has expended its use of the company’s revenue cycle management solutions. Hays has also selected MedAssets’ CrossWalk solution, designed to improve charge integrity, compliance and pricing defensibility.

Thomson Reuters, based in New York, has announced a [partnership with Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Ingenious Med to combine Thomson Reuters’ Clinical Xpert Navigator with Ingenious Med’s IM Practice Manager to offer a unified billing solution for hospitals and physician practices.

Merge Healthcare, a Milwaukee-based developer of healthcare data and diagnostic workflow tools, has announced an alliance with Orion Health, which provides clinical workflow and integration technology, to integrate Merge’s Cedara WebAccess platform with Orion’s Concerto Physician Portal.

Versus Technology, based in Traverse City, Mich., has announced that Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind., has deployed the company’s Asset Management Solution RTLS system to management equipment resources, including maintenance, storage and deployment.

GetWellNetwork, Inc., based in Bethesda, Md., has announced that the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del., has deployed GetWell Town, the new pediatric version of the company’s Interactive Patient Care System.
 
Picis, Inc., based in Wakefield, Mass., has released version 5.0 of its Picis ED PulseCheck EDIS. In addition, the company has launched LYNX CareBridge, a software solution designed to help hospitals provide accurate documentation to comply with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regulations and provide an audit trail for admission decisions.

Novation, an Irving, Texas-based supply contracting company, has awarded an agreement to Kimberly-Clark Health Care of Roswell, Ga., for NOVAPLUS personal protective apparel, which will be made available to members of VHA, Inc., the University HealthSystem Consortium and Provista.

Pharmacy OneSource, of Bellevue, Wash., has announced that Duke University Hospital in North Carolina has adopted the company’s Simplifi 797 software package for quality assurance regarding drug compounding.

Patient Care Technology Systems, a Charlotte, N.C.-based subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, Inc., has established Patient Care Technology Systems Limited as its wholly owned subsidiary in the United Kingdom. The new company, which is registered in England and Wales, will market RTLS-enabled automatic tracking and workflow automation solutions for healthcare providers in the UK and European Union.

Wolters Kluwer Health, based in Philadelphia, has announced that the Avamar Center for Endoscopy in Warren, Ohio, has selected the company’s ProVation MD software for gastroenterology procedure documentation and coding.

InteGreat, based in Pittsburgh, has announced an alliance with Ascender Software, LLC, to provide InteGreat electronic health record users with the MED3000 Quality Management Suite for Hierarchical Condition Categories calculations and Physician Quality Reporting Initiatives reporting.

Portico Systems, a Philadelphia-based developer of integrated provider management (IPM) solutions, has announced a partnership with SDI, a provider of healthcare informatics solutions, to integrate Portico’s provider management platform with SDI’s provider data and managed care analytics to enable health plans to intelligently target providers for recruitment, enhance provider performance management programs and increased decision support to members via enhanced provider profiles.
 
Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions of Chicago has announced that the Danbury office of Physician Services in Danbury, Conn., will expand its deployment of the Allscripts Electronic Health Record across its network from its current base of 51 physicians to all 238 employed physicians.

The Eclipsys Corporation of Atlanta has announced that the Sound Shore Health System will undergo an elevated activation of the Eclipsys Sunrise Enterprise suite of solutions at both the Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, N.Y., and Mount Vernon Hospital in Mount Vernon, N.Y.

Loxogon, Inc., based in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., has launched Loxogon Alloy, a new healthcare software application designed to integrate multiple hospital systems in real-time, allowing immediate tracking and reporting capabilities.

EXTENSION, Inc., based in Fort Wayne., Ind., has announced a partnership with AeroScout, based in Redwood City, Calif., to combine EXTENSION”s VoIP alerting with AeroScout’s Healthcare RTLS to provider real-time location, status and condition information about assets, patients and staff.

Aprima Medical Software of Dallas has announced a value-added reseller agreement with Pacific Medical IT, Inc., a California-based provider of IT support for local medical practices, to deliver Aprima’s electronic health record and practice management systems to Pacific Medical customers.
