Vendor Notebook: MedAssets to provide spend management to RehabCare

MedAssets, based in Atlanta, has announced that it will provide its spend management solutions to RehabCare, a St. Louis-based national provider of long-term acute care and rehabilitation services. The company has also put out the call for nominations for its ninth annual Technology & Innovation Forum.

The RealMed Corporation, an Indianapolis-based provider of Web-based revenue cycle management solutions for healthcare providers and payers, has announced a multi-year agreement with MED3000, which provides healthcare management solutions to physicians, to offer real-time adjudication and processing of electronic claims transactions, real-time claims editing, automatic claims status and electronic remittance advice management services to MED3000 clients.

TSYS Healthcare, a Minneapolis-based provider real-time connectivity and integration services, has announced a partnership with Minneapolis-based Lighthouse1, a developer of consumer-driven healthcare administration software, to create an integrated, end-to-end healthcare payment solution on the Lighthouse 1 OnDemand platform.

McKesson, based in Atlanta, has announced that Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa, Paynesville Area Hospital in Paynesville, Minn., and Renville County Hospital and Clinics in Olivia, Minn., will deploy the company’s Practice Partner Patient Records electronic health record and practice management solution for their employed and affiliated physicians. In addition, the company has released version 7.1 of its Connect-Rx software, providing improved functionality for the company’s AcuDose-Rx medication dispensing cabinets and Anesthesia-Rx medication carts.

Benefitfocus, based in Charleston, S.C., has announced an agreement with the Lifestyle Benefits Corporation, a Michigan-based brokerage firm, to provide the Benefitfocus HR InTouch Application, which runs on the Benefitfocus Platform, to create a consumer-driven portal that supports benefit enrollment, employee communication, health and wellness initiatives and video messaging.

Flash Global Logistics, a Pine Brook, N.J.-based developer of single-source supply chain solutions, has announced a partnership with OnProcess Technology, which designs products for asset retrieval and customer experience management for reverse logistics.

Practice Fusion, a San Francisco-based developer of electronic health records, has announced a partnership with Kareo, based in Irvine, Calif., to integrate Practice Fusion’s Web-based EHRs with Kareo’s medical billing software for physicians.

Vangent, Inc., an Arlington, Va.-based provider of information management and strategic business process services, has announced a partnership with Orion Health, an Australian-based developer of clinical workflow and integration technology solutions for the healthcare sector with a U.S. headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif.

Asolva, a Los Angeles-based developer of healthcare data analytics and reporting systems, has announced the launch of its Drug Waste Tracker, which allows hospital pharmacies to instantly tracks the amount and cost of oncology drugs that are prepared vs. the actual amount consumed.

The Medical Simulation Corporation of Denver has signed a vendor agreement with the MAGNET Cooperative, one of the largest non-profit group purchasing organizations in the country, making MSC’s simulation-based education products available to the GPO’s participating healthcare facilities.

Sg2, a Skokie, Ill.-based developer of healthcare information management solutions, has signed a multiyear contract with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare to deploy the Sg2 INSIGHT clinical performance management system in nine hospitals in southeast Wisconsin and Iowa.

Perceptive Software, based in Shawnee, Kan., has released version 6.5 of its ImageNow document management software.

Wolters Kluwer Health, based in Philadelphia, has announced that Spectrum Health, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., will deploy ProVation MD software for cardiology procedure documentation and coding in the cardiac catheterization labs at Blodgett Hospital and Butterworth Hospital. The company has also added a One Click Updates tool to its ProVation Order Sets, powered by UpToDate Decision Support.

SUNRx, based in Bensalem, Pa., has launched PAP Simplified, a new solution designed to help eligible health organizations manage the administrative burdens associated with pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs (PAPs) and save money on drug subsidies. In addition, the company has been selected by the East Central Oklahoma Family Health Center to launch a program that will provide discounted prescription drugs to low-income patients in Wetumka, Okla., and the surrounding area.

Novation, an Irving, Texas-based supply contracting company, has announced the launch of a new Patient Care Standardization Program. The program, beginning July 1, will contain only medical products and is designed to provide significant value to members of VHA, the University HealthSystem Consortium and Provista.

Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions of Chicago has announced that Healthcare South will deploy the Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solution to nine pediatric and family practice offices in the Boston area. NextGen Healthcare, based in Horsham, Pa., has signed contracts with five new hospitals to deploy the company’s Inpatient Clinicals clinical, financial and administrative solution for the inpatient market.
