Vendor Notebook: New provider to join Premier's labor management program

The Premier healthcare alliance has announced that Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa, is joining LaborConnect, Premier’s labor management program designed to help hospitals succeed under changes imposed by healthcare reform. The hospital will use Premier’s OperationsAdvisor productivity solution, which monitors employee productivity and performance, tracking the use of labor costs and aligning labor decisions with strategic objectives.

Omnicell, a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of system solutions for acute healthcare facilities, has announced an agreement to co-market Sentry Data Systems’ Sentinel RCM application, which has a 340B solution component. Sentry’s revenue cycle management offering will be integrated with Omnicell’s new WorkflowRx 7.0 software to address the inventory management, financial reconciliation and compliance aspect of participating in the 340B Drug Pricing Program.

InstaMed, a Philadelphia-based healthcare payments network, has released version 2.0 of its Patient Estimator solution, which is designed to enable healthcare providers to increase collections, accelerate cash flow and decrease bad debt by improving the payment process at the point of contact.

Casenet, Inc., a Bedford, Mass.-based developer of healthcare management software solutions, has completed a $2 million funding round. comprised of an options sale and debt financing.

TeleTracking Technologies of Morrisville, N.C., has announced that the Methodist Healthcare System, based in San Antonio, Texas, will use the company’s RadarFind real-time locating system to track thousands of assets, and eventually patients, across five of its 24 facilities, with plans for future expansion.

MedNetworks, based in Newton, Mass., has announced its launch. the company will offer pharmaceutical firms, health plans, corporations and hospitals a platform for analyzing the social networks of physicians and patients, with the goal of identifying trends that can help them influence business operations and improve healthcare delivery.

IBM has acquired Datacap, a Tarrytown, N.Y.-based provider of information-capture solutions.

Medworxx, a Toronto-based developer of patient flow, compliance and education solutions for healthcare providers, has entered the UK market through a partnership with ModelAdvice DC Consulting Ltd UK.

SumTotal Systems, a Mountain View, Calif.-based developer of talent development solutions, has announced that ProCure Treatment Centers has successfully deployed the company’s Results OnDemand-Learning solution to train its healthcare professionals online.

Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., a Reston, Va.-based provider of onsite health centers, is partnering with Jacksonville, Fla.-based St. Vincent’s HealthCare, part of the Ascension Health network, to assist Jacksonville’s major employers in setting up onsite employee health centers.

Skytron, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., has announced that Michigan-based Spectrum Health has implemented the company’s real-time location (RTLS) collaborative solution, powered by Awarepoint and Intelligent InSites, to track and manage more than 5,300 hospital assets through its downtown and cross-town campuses.
