Vendor Notebook: NextGen partners with InstaMed

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems of Horsham, Pa., has announced a partnership with Philadelphia-based InstaMed to offer healthcare providers payment assurance through InstaMed’s healthcare payments platform. The service will be known as NextGen Integrated Payment Processing Services, powered by InstaMed.
Lawson Software of St, Paul, Minn., has announced that Fairview Health Services, one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in Minnesota, will implement the Lawson Human Resource Management suite, part of the Lawson Human Capital Management system.
CSI Financial Services, based in San Diego, has announced that San Juan Hospital, a Utah-based 25-bed critical-access hospital, will use the company’s ClearBalance program to offer its patients interest-free loans.

Shareable Ink, a Boston-based developer of digital pan and paper applications for healthcare, has received a $4.5 million Series A Preferred investment from the Tennessee Angel Fund and a partnership of investors. The TNInvestco transaction, which includes the Nashville Capital Network’s Angel Fund and Angel Group, The Martin Companies and Heritage Group Holdings, will allow Shareable Ink to move its headquarters to Nashville.

VHA, Inc., an Irving, Texas-based national healthcare network, has announced that WakeMed Health & Hospitals, an 870-bed multi-facility hospital system based in Raleigh, N.C., has attributed savings of roughly $2.5 million in the past six months to its use of the PriceLYNX price benchmarking service. VHA officials say WakeMed has identified an additional $7.3 million in future savings opportunities and sustainable cost reduction projects by using VHA’s tool.  In addition, the company has signed an agreement with Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services to provide VHA members with treasury management services specifically designed to help healthcare organizations reduce processing expenses and increase working capital.
The QuadraMed Corporation of Reston, Va., has been awarded a five-year, $211 million contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to implement its Quantim Coding Compliance and Abstracting solution to streamline coding, compliance, claims editing and revenue-cycle processes.
