Vendor Notebook - QuadraMed launches Quantum Coding Simulator for ICD-10 training

The QuadraMed Corporation of Reston, Va., has launched the Quantum Coding Simulator, an ICD-10-compliant encoder training tool designed to help coders and students gain proficiency in using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code sets ahead of the mandated Oct. 1, 2013 implementation date.

Zepherella, based in Chapel Hill, N.C., has begun piloting an iPhone-compatible application to supplement its “No Surprise” healthcare pricing solution for physicians.

Tripwire, a Portland, Ore.-based developer of data center compliance and infrastructure management services, has announced that Medfusion, a Cary, N.C.-based provider of patient-to-provider online communications, has adopted Tripwire Enterprise to achieve and sustain compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The software is also being used to improve change process controls in Medfusion’s patient portal systems that support online transactions with customers.

Healthcare Management Systems, Inc., based in Nashville, Tenn., has added electronic statements and online bill paying services to its existing statement processing services.

Consumer Health Technologies, Inc., a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based developer of consumer-directed healthcare (CDHC) administration software, has joined forces with Eagle, Colo.-based My Wellchoice to provide third-party administrators payers and financial institutions access to My Wellchoice’s interactive fitness, nutrition and emotional assistance programs.

Intuit, Inc., of Mountain View, Calif., has announced that its Quicken Health Enterprise Tracker software, designed to help healthcare consumers organize their healthcare financial information in a simple clear format, is being rolled out to nearly 700,000 commercial health plan enrollees of UnitedHealthcare, a subsidiary of Minneapolis-based the UnitedHealth Group.

BridgeHealth Medical, a Denver-based provider of medical travel services, has announced an alliance with Competitive Health, Inc., a Mission Viejo, Calif.-based provider of medical and dental administrative software solutions and hosted services, to help those with limited health benefit programs gain access to medical travel options.

Xantos, Inc., a Philadelphia-based environmental services outsourcing company for the healthcare industry, has closed on a Series D round of $4 million to provide working capital. The company hopes to begin a nationwide marketing program for its XRO system, designed to reduce hospital-acquired infections and airborne dust.
