Change has become routine for healthcare finance executives, as healthcare moves toward value and accountability. And this publication is not immune. A few months ago, the staff at HealthcareFinanceNews.com sat down to review our plans for providing readers with the best information possible. It was clear to all of us that it was time to make some changes in how we presented our content.
Simply publishing the news isn't enough any more. The changes sweeping healthcare are far-reaching and dramatic. The responsibility for delivering quality care while maintaining a solid financial structure requires planning and careful decision-making. With the access our reporters have to the top healthcare finance executives, we are in a position to help our readers in that decision-making process by providing informational resources that go beyond simple news stories.
So we are now providing more context to every story. It is not enough to just know what happened. Our readers need to take control of events. And we can help with a sharper editorial focus on the areas of paramount interest: business intelligence, capital finance, revenue cycle, risk management, strategic planning, supply chain and workforce management.
Working with that goal, we set out to redesign the website and our print publication. The primary goal was to provide an easy to navigate format that helps financial executives find solutions whenever the need arises. Our new website design is oriented around topics to help you move quickly to the articles and white papers that are most relevant. If you haven't already tried the new navigation, you'll soon see how much easier it is to display stories based on Topics and to do Research.
We re-designed our web pages and emails so they are easier to read no matter which device you use, from desktop to tablet to phone. We are also beginning to plan an in-person event that will provide a forum to learn from experts and connect with your peers. And we will be improving our social media offerings through Twitter and LinkedIn to help you stay in touch.
We value your trust and appreciate that HealthcareFinanceNews is more than just a publication. It is a member of a community that values integrity and commitment. With these changes, we sincerely hope we've contributed positive changes and put ourselves in a better position to serve our readers and subscribers. We are genuinely interested in your opinion about these changes. I hope you'll take advantage of the various tools we offer for communicating with us, whether it is a direct email to me, a comment using the tools on this page or by starting your own discussion at our LinkedIn group.
And I hope to see you soon at one of our in-person events.
